Herbed Pizza Dough Will make 2 18 inch pizzas but you can do smaller. 1/2 cup warm water (about 110*) 1 envelope instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp.) 1 1/4 cups water, room temp 2 Tbsp. olive oil 4 cups bread flour, plus some 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2-3 tsp. Italian seasoning Garlic powder add to your taste, some people like more, some less. Cornmeal Directions: (I mix in a bowl with a wooden spoon) Mix together warm water and yeast; let stand for 5 minutes or until frothy. Add room temperature water and olive oil to yeast. Place flour, salt, Italian seasoning, and garlic into a stand mixer; mix slightly. Mix in yeast mixture; switch to dough hook once dough comes together. Knead for 5 to 8 minutes. Cover and let rise for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled. After risen, separate into 2 equal pieces. At this point, you can freeze them - wrap them in saran wrap and then place in a ziploc bag. Defrost in refrigerator overnight. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Place a little cornmeal on your pizza pan. Transfer your dough onto the pizza pan and prick with a fork. Bake between 400* to 450* for 8 to 10 minutes. Then top with desired toppings and bake 10 to 12 more minutes. You can skip prebaking and bake the dough with the toppings on it already. (This is the method I use) This recipe is for meat lovers, I will add notes for the Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Pizza(makes 2 18 inch) 16 oz. Hamburger 16 oz. Italian sausage Pizza dough (my favorite recipe, above) 1/2 cup pizza sauce (I use more, judge to your liking) 1 lb. shredded mozzarella cheese (I use more, judge to your liking) 4 oz. diced ham 8 oz. pepperoni 1 red bell pepper, diced Dried parsley Salt and pepper *NOTE* For the Stuffed crust Pepperoni, omit the hamburger, sausage, ham, and bell pepper. ADD: Mozzarella stick cheese to stuff the crust. Directions: Cook the sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat until cooked through, crumbling as you go. Roll pizza dough out on a lightly floured surface to fit the size of your baking sheet. Transfer and press to fit to the edges. *Stuffed crust* roll mozzarella sticks into crust. Top dough with pizza sauce followed by cheese. Then top with meats and sprinkle with parsley, salt, and pepper. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are puffed and golden brown.
